How to Install grep software package in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin)

grep software package provides GNU grep, egrep and fgrep, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install grep 

grep is installed in your system.

Make ensure the grep package were installed using the commands given below,

$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep grep *

You will get with grep package name, version, architecture and description in a table
